GUITARS
Where can I find more info and user comments about the differences
between guitar models?
Read and post at the Reverend
Discussion Page. Also read user reviews at Harmony
Central.
Do the new guitars sound like the discontinued USA guitars?
The new guitars use the same Reverend pickups and have the lively,
responsive Reverend tone. The discontinued USA composite body
produces less midrange and more lows and highs. The wood construction
of the new bodies produce a more traditional tone with more midrange
focus and clarity, and a rounder, warmer treble response.
Is the Bolt-On Series neck the same as the USA neck?
The overall specs and legendary feel are the same. The Bolt-On
neck is just slightly thicker front to back compared to the USA
necks.
What's the difference between the current korina guitars and
the older mahogany/spruce guitars? Why the change?
We changed to korina in September, 2007. Everything above serial
number 07468 is korina.
We changed to korina for more consistent guitar weight. Korina
is similar to mahogany, but has a narrower weight range and is
very resonant. If you compare mahogany and korina versions of
the SAME WEIGHT (with the same gauge and brand of new strings),
the tone difference is negligible. This holds true for EVERY model
we offer. The guitars are now more consistent, and still have
the same great tone.
Korina is actually African Limba. It was dubbed "Korina"
by Gibson and used on the original late 50's Flying V and Explorer.
It is highly regarded for it's tonal qualities, and usually commands
a premium upgrade price with custom guitar builders. Because our
factory buys korina in large quantities, we have not raised the
guitar prices.
Can Reverend install my string gauge?
No, all Reverend guitars come with factory equipped 10-46
gauge strings only.
Can I purchase a separate pickguard, pickups, pickguard assembly,
or neck?
Sorry, we do not offer any separate proprietary components. We
do offer small repair parts, call for availability. Replacement
custom pickguards can be made by www.pickguardian.com
Where can I purchase a Les Trem?
Reverend no longer offers the Les Trem. They are made in Germany
by ABM,
and distributed in the USA by www.stewmac.com
and www.allparts.com.
How do I install the Les Trem?
Here is our Les
Trem Install Page. Please note: our method will require you
to drill a hole in the spring plate and the body! Otherwise, the
standard self-adhesive pad can be used. We advise installation
be peformed by a professional guitar technician.
How do I adjust the Les Trem?
See this page: Les Trem instructions.
Where can I purchase the roller bridge used with the Les Trem?
Guitar
Jones USA.
On my Les Trem, the bolt that holds the arm on broke, do you
have replacements?
We don't have that particular part. We recommend replacing it
with a 5mm thread x 16mm long - roundhead bolt. Most bigger hardware
stores will have them. It's actually stronger and easier to adjust
than the original bolt.
Can I send my guitar to Reverend for repair, maintenance,
modifications or upgrades?
No, we do not perform any aftermarket work with the exception
of warranty service. We recommend consulting with the dealer you
purchased from, or with a qualified repair shop in your area.
My USA Reverend needs body repair, can you do that?
No, we do not perform any aftermarket work with the exception
of warranty service. Contact Brown's
Guitar Factory or Joe's
Music for for body repair of discontinued USA guitars.
Which graphite saddles fit my import guitar?
The Graphtech model# PS-8615-00 saddles will fit the tuneomatic
bridge used on import Reverends. Contact www.graphtech.com
for purchasing info.
What is the ohm output rating, and magnet type used in your
pickups?
The chart below is provided for informational purposes only. It will
NOT tell you what the pickup sounds like! Output and magnet type
are only two of MANY factors that determine a
pickup's tone. We advise you IGNORE the information below, and
read the descriptions at each guitar page for a better idea
of what the pickups sound like in each guitar. OHM ratings are
approximate.

Does Reverend offer amp repair, parts or schematics?
We no longer offer amp repair service. Please contact your local
repair tech, or contact Dennis Kager at Central Jersey Music Service,
732-572-1911 (NJ). Schematics are for sale at the Accessories
page. A limited supply of parts are for sale at the Misc./Parts.
Where can I find more info on Reverend amps and other discontinued
products?
See the Archives page. Be sure to
read the Discontinued
FAQ.
Does Reverend offer Drivetrain repair, parts or schematics?
Visual Sound
offers parts and service, email service@visualsound.net
or call 931-487-9001 (TN). Schematics are for sale at the Accessories
page.
Why doesn't Reverend offer free schematics like some other
companies?
Reverend has thousands of dollars, years of testing, and decades
of experience (between Joe Naylor, Dennis Kager, and Bob Weil)
invested into our schematics. These are high performance designs
with unique features. We see no reason to give this valuable info
away freely, especially since it would largely be used by modders,
designers and manufacturers.
It should be noted that many companies do not offer schematics
at all, and some encase parts of the circuit in epoxy. Companies
that offer free schematics are usually publishing vintage/reissue
designs, or in our opinion, they don't have a design worth protecting.
What year was this Reverend guitar, bass, amp, or cabinet
made?
See the Serial Number listings at the Archives
page.
